Our Greenhouse Gas Emission Reduction Targets Certified as Science Based Targets (SBT)
As part of our efforts to address climate change, we have achieved Science Based Target (SBT) certification for our greenhouse gas (GHG) emission reduction targets. SBT is emission reduction targets designed to align with the goals of the Paris Agreement, which aims to limit the rise in global average temperature to within 1.5℃ above pre-industrial levels. The targets we have set for Scope 1 (direct emissions), Scope 2 (indirect emissions from electricity and other energy sources), and Scope 3 (other indirect emissions such as those from the supply chain) have been officially validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) as being scientifically consistent with these goals.
Scope 1+2: 50% reduction by 2030 compared to the base year 2021
Scope 3 : 30% reduction by 2030 compared to the base year 2021
We will continue to pursue these certified targets by promoting energy efficiency, introducing renewable energy, and contributing to the realization of a sustainable society through the reduction of environmental impact.
